YaLa Nights Workout Party (6:00 PM)
Celebrity Fitness Trainer and creator of YaLa Fitness, Laurent Amzallag presents YaLa night workout party, Nuit Sensuelle. Laurent has received high praise from Oprah, ELLE Magazine, and was named one of the country’s top trainers by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and DC’s top trainers by Washingtonian Magazine. Nuit Sensuelle taking place on Saturday May 19th on the Southwest Waterfront will feature a dance performance and fashion show by DarbeDar and Tala Raasi. Urban Evolution’s acrobatics will also keep the energy rising. Healthy snacks and drinks will prep participants for Laurent’s high-energy workout to DJ Tyypsilon’s hot playlist. An Affair To Remember: Sparkling Memories (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM)
The Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter announces its annual An Affair to Remember fundraising event will take place on May 20, 2012 at Harry’s Savoy Grill and Ballroom in Wilmington, DE. This sophisticated soiree will feature delicious brunch items, chilled champagne drinks, a spectacular silent auction and entertaining live music from 11:30am-2:30pm. The award winning musical act, the Philadelphia String Quartet, will perform their generation spanning musical collection which has made them one of the most sought after live music acts in the area. Guests will have the opportunity to hear about the latest advancements in Alzheimer’s disease research and what strides are being made to find a cure. Guests will also have the chance to bid on fabulous silent auction items including vacation homes, sports tickets, restaurant gift certificates and entertainment packages with all proceeds benefiting this important cause. The “Champagne and Diamonds Raffle” will feature a beautiful diamond, donated by Carl Doubet Jewelers, which will be awarded to one lucky guest at the conclusion of the event. Currently there are approximately 300,000 people in the Delaware Valley coping with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. Statistics show that for every person with the disease, at least 3 or 4 others are affected and involved in the care-giving process. The money generated from An Affair To Remember helps to provide education and support to these citizens through numerous programs, including MedicAlert + Safe Return® program, Caregiver Support Groups and the 24-Hour Helpline. GET YOUR GOLF CLUBS READY!!! The popular GPHA May Golf Outing & Fundraiser provides an opportunity for participants to network and enjoy a great day of golf, while raising funds for a worthy cause. Partial proceeds from the golf outing fund GPHA's Michael M. Boyle Scholarship Program: providing support for senior high school and college students pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. Our efforts, along with the generous support of many others such as yourself, have assisted local students.
Plymouth County Club features an exciting course, good food and fantastic service. This is a popular event which sells out to 130 golfers annually and is open to all GPHA members an guests.
