DI BRUNO BROS. EXPANDS IN THE ARDMORE FARMERS MARKET
Continuing the Spirit of Culinary Pioneering With Even More Options for the Main Line
ARDMORE—Di Bruno Bros. announces the expansion of their new location in the Ardmore Farmers Market at Suburban Square. The iconic Philadelphia gourmet purveyor opened in the Ardmore Farmers Market in April of this year with five stalls across two aisles of the market. Opening date for the expansion is slated for the first week in December, bringing their number of stalls up to six and counting. The additional space will allow Di Bruno’s to expand their offerings of best selling products and customer favorites, and add new product offerings inspired by customer requesst such as pasta, sauces, breads, and deli meats. The timing was deliberately planned to provide greater service and product offerings during the holiday season. DiBruno Bros. will celebrate the launch with daily specials, samplings and demonstrations seven days a week until New Year’s Eve.

The additional space will allow Di Bruno Bros. to expand offerings of customer’s favorites as well as introduce new specialty food items, includingfresh and frozen homemade pastas and sauces. In the spirit of culinary pioneering, DiBruno Bros. has sourced Cucina Fresca from Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Di Bruno Bros. Ardmore location will be the exclusive East Coast retailer for the boutique pasta sauce brand, which specializes in handmade small batch sauces and pastas. The expansion will allow Di Bruno Bros. to offer “grab and go” Family Portions of a selection of Di Bruno Bros. most popular prepared food choices.
An expanded artisanal and traditional bread selection will include customer favorites like challah, sliced and whole rye and pumpernickle loaves, as well as a variety of traditional Italian breads and dinner rolls. The expansion also allows for a more comprehensive offering of conventional and Jewish deli classics including Russian potato salad, homemade sauerkraut, kashe varnishkes, health salad, kanishes, latkesand stuffed cabbage. New featured delibrands include Sigensburg, Hebrew Nationaland Nodines Products for items like apple smoked ham, brisket, liverwurst, Jewish pastrami and knockwurst. A variety of store made and artisanal unique pickle products fromBrooklyn Brine, Guss’ Pickles and McClure’s Pickles and newspecialty mustards, horseradishes and dressings will complete the deli experience.
In early 2012 Di Bruno Bros. will introduce a “made-to-order” sandwich offering that will include a “Grilled Cheese Sandwich Program” unique to Di Bruno Bros. Daily grilled cheese selections will incorporatethe best DiBruno Bros. cheeses and condiments for creative and elevated renditions of the American classic.
The additional space will also allow for a greater service offering to clientele of DiBruno Bros. catering division.
Just in time for holiday, the Ardmore location will be able to offer ready to serve party trays for large and small crowds and pre-made gourmet gift baskets. If an item is not found in Di Bruno’s stores, they will explore the global culinary community to find it. Items available at Di Bruno Bros. other locations can be requested and ready for pick up in Ardmore with just 24 to 48 hours notice.

Di Bruno Bros. will collaborate with local and international beer breweries to host a series of wine, beer and cheese pairings and tastings at the Ardmore Farmers Market location. Custom corporate and personal catering services will be offered, and for customer convenience, appointments and tastings will be available in the Ardmore Farmers Market or at the client’s home or business, and same day service available in some cases.
Di Bruno’s Ardmore location will arouse the senses and taste buds of customers with visual food displays similar to the Chestnut Street location in Rittenhouse Row. Visitors will find 20 feet of cheese display featuring 200-pound wheels of cheese and 16 feet of prepared gourmet items accented with hanging artisanal salamis, provolone and legs of prosciutto suspended from the ceiling. Architect and designer Hugh Boyd, who is best known for his work on the Grand Central Terminal Market in New York City, designed the visual presentation of Di Bruno Bros. space within the Ardmore Farmers Market.
Di Bruno Bros. first opened in Philadelphia’s Italian Market in 1939 as a grocery and convenience store and has been a part of the fabric of the Philadelphia food community for more than 70 years. A culinary destination for all food enthusiasts, the company has three additional retail locations including the Italian Market, in Rittenhouse Square and the Market & Shops at Comcast Center.
