But when US-based Planning Factory International’s Cher Przelomski, CSEP and her Bermuda-based former client Kathryn Massa, decided to team up, they brought to life a company that would take the island’s events to unbelievable new heights.  It had to be upscale, chic, and offer what no local company had done before. Mission accomplished.Planning Factory Bermuda is the only Bermuda event planning and production company with a US presence, that produces cutting edge events, designs custom signature environments, and offers on-island or worldwide meeting and conference planning by experienced, educated, and credentialed industry professionals.“We offer a global presence so we can service our Bermudian clients not only on island, but anywhere in the world,” says Kathryn Massa. “We are not only excited to be able to produce world class events in Bermuda, but also to be able to partner with other local industry professionals as we work to strengthen the overall industry ties by starting an ISES chapter here in the near future.  In partnering together, we will be able to raise the bar and showcase Bermuda as a leading, global, full-service destination.” The company, which officially launched on May 12, 2009, held a grand opening the likes of which Bermuda has never before seen. They began by taking over Tom Moore’s Tavern, Bermuda’s oldest running fine dining establishment, where the “who’s who” of Bermuda— corporate event marketers, government officials, event companies, hoteliers, hospitality providers and existing clients—witnessed a metamorphosis of enormous proportions.Utilizing a mix of local and “imported” talent, the venue, a stoic, stunning stone structure, was transformed into a multi-room, multifaceted interactive experience that offered something different to discover…everywhere one looked. Even before entering, sign spinners guided cars, 14 black-leotard clad greeter bugs welcomed guests, and signature drinks were offered. Then, living statues and a 13-foot-tall butterfly gave way to The Zen Lounge, where parasols hung from the ceiling, Origami demonstrations took place, pushcarts of Chinese food take-out containers filled with Asian specialties sat opposite a sushi bar, which was lit in red and customized for the eventThe Brazilian room offered guests a chance to sample fish stew, meats carved Gaucho-style tableside at a handmade communal table, sip freshly muddled fruit drinks spiked with Sake, Cachaca, or vodka; take a sneak peak at “Decadent Dining”, another tempting new product being introduced by Planning Factory International and Perfect Surroundings, Inc., as well as listen to  local band, relax in lounge groupings, be entertained by a mermaid on a floating dock, and a contortionist in a plastic bubble afloat on the water—all under a ClearSpan, clear top tent.Geishas nestled into the foliage for guests to discover as they walked through to yet another area. Mirror Man (brainchild of AcroBack) performed atop a platform that led to a cigar roller, Bermudian Rum tasting, and communal exclusive lines Rentals Unlimited and CORT Event Furnishings, that PFB would now be able to offer to Bermuda, were showcased. At last there are choices.
