The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, New York, Reopens Today The Historic Resort in “America’s Most Perfect Village” Is Gradually Resuming Operations
The Otesaga Resort Hotel, a historic lakeside property located in south central New York state, began welcoming back guests today, Monday, June 15. With a collection of improved safety and hygiene protocols in place, the resort will also resume modified operations of its restaurants, all in accordance with guidance from federal, state and local health authorities.
“We are excited to reopen our doors and are committed to providing the same level of personalized service to our guests that we’ve offered since The Otesaga opened in 1909. As always, the safety and well-being of our guests and staff are the top priority,” said Jim Miles, General Manager and COO of the resort. “We invite guests to come visit and unwind while they enjoy the natural beauty and fresh air of our serene lakeside location.”
In honor of the reopening, The Otesaga is offering a “Home Away From Home” special with rates starting at $199 per night in June, $249 per night in July, and $279 per night in August. Although the resort’s pool, spa and recreational activities are currently closed, there’s plenty to see and do here along the shores of Otsego Lake. Guests can enjoy a round of golf on the award-winning Leatherstocking Golf Course, sip on refreshing cocktails on the resort’s expansive porch that overlooks the sweeping views of the lake or stroll the quaint Main Street of downtown Cooperstown.
Advancing its safety operations and best practices, The Otesaga has implemented Otesaga CARE, a program that exceeds the sanitation standards recommended by state and federal agencies to provide a Clean And Responsible Environment for all. Following the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and New York State’s Department of Health, below is a snapshot of enhanced procedures that have been implemented throughout the resort:
Social distancing is encouraged across the property.
Guests are asked to wear a face mask in public spaces.
Several touchless hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the resort.
Guests will be provided an Otesaga Personal Care Kit upon check-in that includes hand sanitizer, bottled water, sanitary wipes and mask(s) (if needed).
Temperature readings will be performed daily upon employees’ entrance to the property.
All staff will be required to wear masks and appropriate protection gear during their shifts.
Daily briefings and updates will be communicated to the resort team as the COVID-19 situation evolves.
Employees will receive ongoing training regarding safety, hygiene and health standards.
