SPARGO, Inc. Launches a Series of Fine Art and Craft Fairs THIS YEAR!

Artisans and craftsmen operating sole proprietorships and family businesses have gone months without a live retail environment to showcase and sell their products. When a popular local craft festival, Sugarloaf, filed for bankruptcy in June we saw an opportunity to remedy the situation. Capital Craft Fairs was launched in July and will feature three events each year (Spring, Fall, and Winter Fairs). The inaugural fair will be held October 16-18 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. To date, 130+ artisans will be exhibiting at the October (Fall) Fair and more than 150 are expected for the Winter Fair, December 4-6. Artist mediums include:

Clothing/Textiles Glass Jewelry Leather Metal Mixed Media Painting and Prints Photography Pottery/Clay Printmaking Specialty Foods Wood

Operationally, we are working closely with the Dulles Expo Center and local health authorities to make the experience safe. Mandatory masks, larger aisles, larger booths, temperature checks, limited capacity, and readily accessible hand sanitization stations are all part of the safety plan. Ticket sales areas equipped to socially distance attendees and staff, line monitors, social distance queuing, and touchless ticket redemption will also be in place.

“Witnessing the loss of Sugarloaf events, a local tradition for more than four decades, hit a nerve and at the same time presented an opportunity that we were poised to pursue”, said Susan Bracken, President and CEO, SPARGO, Inc.. ‘We look forward to making these LIVE EVENTS a reality”.

The Capital Craft Fair will be the fourth public event to take place at the Dulles Expo Center since it re-opened in July.
