The Wildwoods Celebrate the Holiday Season With Outdoor Fun and Events December 4-19

Experience the spirit of the holiday season in the Wildwoods, NJ with safe, socially distant family events that are sure to make your season even brighter. The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Friday, December 4 at 1st and Central avenues at 4:30 p.m. The Christmas tree lighting event includes music, refreshments, free tour of the lighthouse and a visit from Santa Claus! For more information please call 609-522-2955 or visit On Friday, December 4, bundle up and cheer at the Annual Holiday Parade along Pacific Avenue, presented by the Greater Wildwood Jaycees. Parade registration/check-in begins at 5 p.m. at the North Wildwood Recreation Center, 10th and Central Avenues, North Wildwood. The parade lines up along Central Avenue and steps off 16th Avenue at 6:30 p.m., proceeding along Central Avenue, then Pacific Avenue to Rio Grande Boulevard, where the parade disburses. Awards will be announced for floats and the decorated business lighting contest on 98.7 the Coast. Join the Cape May Dancers for a Christmas in New York performance on Saturday, December 5 at noon at Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood. The City of Wildwood Parks & Recreation and the Wildwood Fire Department are sponsoring a Holiday Light Show and House Decorating Contest beginning Thursday, December 10. Homes in Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and West Wildwood are eligible to participate. The community welcomes year-round residents and visitors to enjoy this new holiday event that is sure to become a tradition. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it is asked that viewers remain in their vehicles to view the Holiday House decorations. End your festive drive at Holly Beach Park, 123 E Andrews Avenue, where you can walk around, take in the Holiday Light Show and vote for your favorite houses. The Holiday Light Show will take place Friday, December 11, 18 and Saturday, December 12, 19 every hour on the hour at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The light show will last approximately 30 minutes. The Pinch the GrYnch’ Boardwalk 5K Run returns to the Wildwoods boardwalk on Saturday, December 12. This holiday boardwalk 5K run and 1-mile walk is fun for all ages and will be following the CDC’s outdoor guidelines for COVID-19. Event starts at 10 a.m. – rain or shine – limited to the first 150 participants who are asked to register online. Participants are encouraged to dress in festive holiday outfits and to wear masks. The race route will run south on the Wildwoods Boardwalk to Cresse Avenue, make a turn around and head north to 21st Street. Another turn will lead runners back to the front of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Registration is $30 per person or $15 if you donate a new, unwrapped toy for local children in need. Also on Saturday, December 12, Partners in Preservation will host their annual Holiday Self-Guided Tour of B&B’s, houses, churches, the Holly Beach Park Schoolhouse and the George F.
