Recent Survey Reveals American’s Biggest Wedding Regret (Hint: Location, Location, Location!)

Entertainment Cruises Releases National Wedding Survey Findings

Entertainment Cruises, the United States’ largest dining cruise company, today released findings from its recent survey highlighting 2018 wedding trends from across the country. The survey yielded insights on biggest wedding regrets, desirable guest count, top holidays to tie the knot, and the most important element of a couples’ special day.

Entertainment Cruise’s 2018 Wedding Trends and Findings:

Location Is Key. The wedding venue is one of the biggest considerations for couples and often one of the first selections made in the planning process. Looking back on their weddings, 22 percent of married Americans say if they could change one thing about their wedding day it would be the venue. Similarly, 28 percent of Philadelphia brides say adding personalized touches that reflect who they are as a couple is most important to them when planning their wedding.

Intimate Affairs. While large weddings of 250+ guests once reigned supreme, today brides and grooms are interested in more intimate settings for their special day. In fact, 35 percent of brides-to-be invited less than 51 people to their special day. Locally, only 8 percent of Philadelphia brides-to-be said they invited 151+ guests to their wedding.

Holiday Weddings. Couples frequently toy with the pros and cons of considering notable holidays for their big day. Luckily this wedding faux pas is a thing of the past with 36 percent of Americans saying they would be excited to attend a wedding on Valentine’s Day and 27 percent expressing interest in a New Year’s Eve celebration. However, be warned, Easter is not one day to consider with only 8 percent of Philadelphians noting they would be excited to attend a wedding on this family-focused holiday.

Leave It to The Professionals. From a larger wedding to a smaller affair, a wedding coordinator is key to making sure the day is a success. So much so that 28 percent of brides-to-be say having a wedding coordinator to help plan and manage their special day is the most important element to them.
